In 1368 China was freed from the power of the Mongols. The Mongol yuan dynasty was replaced by the national Ming dynasty. The third Emperor of this dynasty, Zhu Di (reign motto Yongle) ruled from 1402 to 1424. With him and his grandson a giant fleet Admiral-eunuch Zheng he made (with at 1405 1431 year seven voyages into the Indian ocean, Red sea and Persian Gulf). Almost a hundred years before Columbus and the European “great geographical discoveries”, the Chinese are practically paved the sea route to Europe.
